7096 version for Mac?

Hi Roger,

After the holidays I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger on a pair of 6105's and a 7096 controller for my 215 gal. mixed reef.

I was wondering if there was any update on 7096 software native to OS X? I have access to a Wintel machine running XP, but I'd rather run on my iMac if I could... without emulation software. :spin1:

They tell me they have a working version but they are still debugging it. It is supposed to be released as a free download in March with an update for the PC version.

Roger, unfortunately this is not what I have been told when I called Tunze in Germany directly a couple of weeks ago. I speak German and being in London I sometimes call them direct for technical assistance. When I asked them whether any Mac software was going to be iminently released I was told that it is not the case and if so will not be until next year. Why was I given this contrasting information?

I am not sure who you spoke with, I talk directly to Axel Tunze, but it is also possible a problem came up and is delaying the release. The Mac version has proven much more difficult than anticipated as the plug and play features of the Mac require very strict and perfect implementation to work.

The last news I got was both PC and Mac versions would be ready this month, they are to be featured at Interzoo in May so I would believe this would be the latest they would come available.

The only two I know of are making it more stable and reliable and adding the option in Interval mode of idling the other pumps at 30% rather than turning them off, there may be more.

By the way, Mr. Tunze is checking with the programmer on the Mac version, but he did say they had some set backs and no firm date as of yet, they have a working program, but it is unstable and causes the program to shut down occasionally.

Roger, thanks for the update. I hope it comes out soon as I am using Vmware fusion and windows 7 on a mac and I can't get the controller to work. I have already tried with all the correct setting recommendations you have made but no luck. It just can't find the controller when I open the program.

Even if it isn't ready on time, the PC update will solve this for your application.

In the last 2 weeks I have recieved 2 Beta versions, they load, they look nice, you can program everything, but it won't interface with the controller. It is close but they are still tweaking the USB connection.

We are still at the same point, I know they are working on it but the USB interface is the most difficult part of the program, especially for the Mac as the plug and play requires a very exacting set up. I hope to have a working version to show at MACNA so I have been staying on them to get this done.
