For those that have ordered the ATI retro reflectors, how did you mount them? I'm assuming you don't use the typical bulb clips since the ATI reflectors are actually meant to be used as replacements for their fixtures. It would be great if someone could post pics of their ATI retro setup.

You just drill a hole and bolt on the standard clips.

I asked the guys at reefgeek about the ATI reflectors and they said that I shouldn't use the standard clips because ATI reflectors require the bulb to be much closer to the reflector than other reflector setups.

Thats odd. I bought the clips and the ATI reflectors from RG. The bulb is maybe 3/16" from the reflector, not sure I'd want it much closer.

Yeah, I would hope what I got with my fixture was quickly replaced because they are very poor quality, certainly not in line with the rest of the unit which looks very well made.

I bought an 36" Ultra Solaris fixture a few years ago and have always said that my tank just did not look a "bright" as my friends with an ATI, even some of the lights measurements where not as high. So I'm wondering if the reflectors played a part in this.

Grim, did you replace the whole T5 fixture or just the reflectors? If the reflectors what did you go with?

Has anybody given any thought to using one of these? Its a 6 bulb t5 reflector that comes in a shop light. I bought this one from Home Repo.
