Hey Le Rajer, (Thats french for roger)

Figure I would post here incase others had the issue, So I was herp derpin around my tank debating selling and noticed the lights on my controller were out, I couldnt figure it out so I cleaned it, checked the inside and smelled fresh like a babies bum, no burnt parts.

However, at the connection i noticed if I hold the Din/Pin connector kinda to the side (plugged in and pushing on it) my controller will turn back on. Slight corrosion on the metal outside ring but its minimal (small area matchstick head size) ..

Was wondering if inside that black box any issues you have seen with wires or connection socket tabs getting messed up or anything (rather fix it myself as long as its not glued togethor) ..

If you can help it would be app'd, If not how much is this power cord with the small box connection thingy mo bobber. Id just send you it to look at but my vortech wetside decided to crack in half today. soo even though my controller isnt working at least the pump is still going.

Live long and prosper young roger.

LOL,

My guess would be the controller socket on the pump has corroded and possible is broken or shorted, they are not the easiest to replace, you would need to unsolder the old one and solder the new one (three wires). It could also be the controller cable is an issue and rarely the pump itself has an issue and just won't respond to a controller. The controller cable, if it is a Tunze Controller, is just a DIN or MIDI cable you can pick up at Radio Shack.

Thankyou roger, sorry it took awhile to get back to you I thought I replied. I will be selling my tank since I have the hands of michael J fox and will be unable to solder it. Last time I tried to do this with electronics I ended up burning half of my garage down.

If I need to, I will try and take a video if I decide to undertake the fixing of this so you can scream in horror as I run around in flames screaming "OH GOD THE GERMAN ENGINEERING IS MORE THAN I CAN HANDLE" maybe it can be a promo video.

So it is a model of controller with a hardwired cable? Can you get me a picture or the controller model number?

7091 single controller, There is corrosion (slight) around the male section. The black box (one where all the connections meet on power side) seems to be fine , none of the female din pins are lose. I sold it anyway and will be shipping it out soon. Not sure what happened , as it just sat there and one day I noticed it wasnt on anymore until I pushed on the "male/controll box" connector while plugged in , to like the side.

OK, sorry, I didn't mean to imply you had to solder it, we do those repairs as well, I just mentioned it if you preferred to do it yourself as some people do.

Oh, I will pass it on to the next guy (think he is ganna fix it himself) that you also repair that.

I didnt know you were a man of so many talents Rajer.

The cable was bad. I soldered a new DIN cable in its place, and it works great! The power supply was bad too (looked like the cap blew), but i ordered a new one, and am using a 12V power supply in the meantime.

wonder if the wire shorting caused the cap to blow? Still had normal power during also.
