Hi. So I'm planning a new tank and I'm visualizing 48*30*30, that puts it at 174g. The tank will be custom made and drilled with dual overflows, or one central overflow. I'm a good way out (9 mos+) from completion of this. I'm just taking it slow and doing it right. So far my components list looks like this:

Lighting (Hamilton cebu sun MH/T5 48")
Sump (trigger systems Ruby elite 36")
Return pump (EcoTech undetermined size)
Protein skim (reef Octopus 150 classic)
Wave makers (current usa system)
Chiller (1/2h penguin)
Heater (won Bros HT 1500w)
Ruby 10g ATO box
ATO undetermined
Dosing pump undetermined
Ruby dosing boxes
Inkbird

Well that's it so far.. anything I'm forgetting other than test kit/refrac/salt the obvious, lmk..

as for stocking list:

Yellow longnose butterfly
Pearlscale butterfly
Pajama cardinal (3)
Tang
Striped dogface or purcupine puffer
Yellowtail blue dmsl x5
Foxface rabbitfish
Koran or emperor angelfish
Bicolor angelfish
Flame angelfish

I know it's a 174 gallon, but by it being a cube it will still limit your options. IMO, I recommend cutting those particular puffers, large angelfish, longnose butterfly (borderline), and depending what tang off the list.

What should the dimensions be to have those fish?

So it appears the general consensus is to purchase some live and mostly dry rock. BRS has some nice looking dry rock, shelf pieces, etc. Anyone have experience with them?
