2 calibrated refractometers, 2 different readings?

I have 2 refractometers that I have calibrated at the same time with the same calibration fluid. I have used separate pipettes for each and rinsed with rodi each time. One reads my system salinity at 1.027 (left one) as I expect and one reads 1.03 (right one). That's a big difference in my book. Any thoughts as to why this might be? More importantly- which do I trust?

What if it's the lower one that's off?

That's a pretty significant difference - maybe take a sample to your LFS to get a read on which refractometer can't be trusted?
