Our next event is our annual "Membership Drive Meeting.
When: Wednesday, January 26th at 6:00 cst.
Where: Foster & Smith's Coral Farm
The membership Drive meeting is for existing member to renew their membership and the recruitment of new members. The board will promote the meeting to attract new members. But we would ask that all existing members try to invite and bring a new member(s) to the meeting!
We have a lot of cool things planned for the meeting. The evening will consist of the following (in no particular order):
Open tour of the Coral Farm:
There will be no purchasing, it will be more like our first meetings at the farm. Nice casual browsing of the fish and the coral vats.
A coral frag demonstration:
Kevin, John and myself will do a coral frag presentation. We will then breakup into smaller groups and everybody will get a chance to do some fragging. In earlier discussions, we had planned to make a group purchase for the coral to be fragged. When I spoke to Kevin earlier this week, he (LiveAquaria) will graciously donate the coral to be fragged. Thank you very much, Kevin!! We haven't decided how we will divide the frags between the attending paid members yet. As a way to raise funds for the club, we might want to consider charging something like $10-$15 to everyone interested in taking home frags. Depending on the number of frags and participating members, they can be divided equally.
Raffles:
There will be a free raffle for paid (premium) members. The free raffle will consist of assorted dry goods and other cool reef items. The prizes will be posted as we get closer to the event.
Membership Payment:
All 2011 memberships are due at the January 26th meeting. The price for a one year membership is $10.00. Please bring cash for your renewal. If you cannot make this meeting, please contact Lynn by pm (clcampuz) or email at Treasurer@NWReefsociety.com
