Sick Regal Angel

Hey all,

I am trying to rescue a Regal Angel and don't quite know what to medicate it with. It has flesh showing on both fins. It seems like it is picking at the rocks and eating, but I can't be positive. It isn't eating any of the flake I put in there. Is there anything I can do to save him? He is a bit disoriented, but other than the fins he looks healthy. Maybe I could get a pic tonight.

Thanks for the link to the thread. It's in a 150 Gallon. It's hiding now. From what I've read, if it's not eating when you get it then it's not gonna eat, whatever you try.

Weel if it is injured it is probably less likely to eat. Is another fish picking on the angel? Also, is it the hardier red sea (yellow belly) type?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's a Red Sea. I don't think anyone is picking on it. I just got it today though so I'll give it some time. Just wanted to know any tips I might need to facilitate the healing and acclimation.

I would start by adding vitamins to the water and and food. Make sure your water parameters are good. Are you feeding it a verity of appropriate foods?

i'd throw some live brine in there to induce him to eat. just load it up with vitamins as well like zoe or marine c.

Buy a clam from the grocery store. Crack it open and serve the insides on the shell. This has worked wonders for the eating habits of Regal Angels.
