Good evening gurus....

I thought I'd post this and see if any sees any "glaring" issues witha attempting to setup my skimmer this way... It appears to me that maximum dwell time will be achieved by setting it up like this.
Questions:
Will I need a check valve to prevent the sump from being flooded?
The return is going to go through the canopy and into the overflow box.
Any input is greatly appreciated!
