New SPS Tank Project

I just purchased this tank and it will be a very slow build. I will update more tomorrow with specifics but here is a photo of it. It is a 120 low iron glass tank that will have a closed loop with the four holes at the front as supply driven by an Ocean Motion unit and the second large drain in the overflow (far left) as return to the circulating pump. There is a hole drilled through the left side of the glass overflow that will connect to the return to the pump using an L shape pvc plumbing. Both overflow and back panel have black acrylic covering that will be attached.
The canopy has an inside heigh of 15 inches off the water surface that will allow me to adjust the reflectors accordingly
This tank was built by Glasscages and they were a true pleasure to work with and the quality is top notch!
It will be used exclusively for SPS. I also included a photo of the 50 gallon sump/refugum also made by Glasscages

On a closed loop system for this tank, what pump would you recommend with the pump being under the tank and flow diverted by an Ocean Motion unit? The discharge points in the tank will be one inch.

I am starting from scratch. Lost my company and was recently re-employed...
It will be a slow process. I am curious what type of pump would be best for a closed loop sytem

use like a mag 24 if you want to go cheap, if not then get a hammerhead

Will a Hammerhead have too much pressure in creating current for sps. Would a Dart be better? The Hammerhead is at 5800 gph

A dart should be plenty for this tank - I used one on my 150-gallon (60x24x24) and it provided some amazing flow. Great looking tank by the way-best of luck with it!

Dart pump and OM 4 Way ordered and will have pics of closed loop plumbing soon.
Have a question....will an Iwaki 40 pump be enough to drive an MR2 skimmer?
