New Acrylic aquarium - I'm back after 30 y.

ok in late 1995 i purchased trickle sump filtering and was working well no problems with nitrates nitirites ect
as they sa that produce factory of them...
To avoid in side sump this sand will fill mix. bellow bio balls than sponge than big sand sponge than smaller sand
hope this will work well in slow motion flow. as this is separate piping to tube will be easier to mainten and clean
on time... lower part will be standart few cm rised to allow nice water flow across all...

O.k. just thinking suggest me if wrong.
As i have 3 way valve normally planned for quick pump release / cleaning ect.
will use one of them for direction of flow - to be able also to put reverse flow.

GF valves made in Switzerland is king in U-piping water industry.

Heat from direct sunshine will be reduced very well.

Regarding the direct sun on aquarium and new windows works perfect.
Outside is 30 C inside without AC is 26,3 C humidity 35%
inside glass of e-low window Argon 3-ple glass and outside is Stop Sol
works perfect.

Trust me 3ple glass is king you purchase this once in life.
Direct sunshine with stopped many UV will not be an issue Im sure.
MHi will do only half job daily.

Inside glass temperature is 36 C sensor attached direct on glass
Outside glass direct sun is 52 C sensor attached direct on glass

When I start using AC will be perfect + additional humidity will solve
with dehumidifier when rise too much... windows have keep position as well
for fresh air.

Temperature outside on glass attached

Hello Shred5 thanks. Trying my best to assemble everything and the only delay is with 20 bricks
to concrete in front of 30 cm wall + this 30 cm bricks to be proper place to place aquarium.

But soon will be done. Here in Europe we have crazy Aprile weather 31 C sunhine days incredible.
As soon tank will be placed on top will glue all piping ect. Now will drill holes in concrete block
on ceiling for MHi lamp. Regards to US from Europe.

Cleaning 30 cm near wall for new bricks to add yuhuhuhu anyway this old parket wood going away will place Tarket new one.

On the second photo you can spot big hole that will use as main extraction cube pipes from top of Mhi Giesemann light and with one ventilator out versus Kip opened window even if i think will be no need. Maybe in this cube hole will place ignitiin heavy box for Mhi. Fixed well.
Bricks is this one. Simple cemented and will add some metal piles inside to keep tight each other veeticaly. Horisontal will add 4 metal long piles with nuts and big washers to keep bricks together with wall in case of earthquake as im on 11 th floor...but soil here is sandy and help lowering vibrations anyway skyscraper shake and dance well on some even smaller eartqauke last 10 years...

Had some concrete and glue gips powder and made first layer on bricks. Second one will be more fine. ;) Used also angle line net or how you call this for angles?
For someone who first time mix concrete and i use only normal one as used 2 bags of 5 kg the quick one dry in 5 min. I mixed and didnt even have a time to come to wall all was dry and hard. FU Ceresit. ;) Never again. With normal mortar cement is super you can work and with wet sponge also go over to fix small mistakes... ;)

Regarding the flow circle its racommended to be 6-10 times volume of tank.
My is cca 550 liter (130 cm long x 60 wide x 75 cm height - 5 cm water level will be)
On pump is 7500 liter / hour very low height of piping max. 1 meter with U pipes.
5500 liter per hour will be 10 times flow across filtration and back.
Another pump is closed loop but not important now.

Pumps is very well tested and its Askoll Fluval SP4 two of them.

As almost 95% of all equipment is purchased I was thinking about
For refilling RO water I think to buy Redsea Reef Ato+ how is your experience?
199 Euro price in Europe.

The only bad is that max. glass is 12mm Will need to place some support from top of aquarium.
Sensor holder and magnetic corner mounting bracket for 12mm ½” glass.

Hello Griss and others. Who will write me step by step proper process of cycling a new tank.
Not that I never done but it was decades and dont want to do some beginner mistakes.
When all will be ready piping and control unit to start filling water have RO.

As its first filling 130 x 70 x 60 cm tank approx. minus each side 1,5 cm wall = 3 cm less
127 cm x 70 cm height x 57 cm wide =506 liter of water.

Thanks in advance for step by step explanation. ( no lights? no skimmer how many weeks salt solution changing water, ugly phases...)

I'm pretty old school with my tanks. I've either used live rock or a combination of live rock and dry rock. I just set the tank up, put the rock in, run the lights and skimmer, do water changes and monitor water parameters.

I've never used bottled bacteria to cycle a tank so, I don't really have any experience using that method. But, I believe @wvned has used the bacteria method.

I started my first tank with a shrimp and some live rock from the LFS. All the rest have been upgrades. The eel tank was sterile but I just connected it to my running system and waited. The 240 got 150 pounds of TBS rock. I did add some bacteria in the hopes of knocking down the ammonia from the rock die-off.
Wasn't me.
