Anyone use these to remove phosphates?

I don't think they would have any effect on phosphates as dissolved ions. Perhaps on PO4 attached to large organic molecules, but not on the actual phosphate ion.

All I know is two days after I used a poly filter the red slim algae was gone from my tank!

Thanks for the replies, i'm going to try it to see if it will remove phospate in my tank.(starting to get a little red slime)

Are we talking tank water or make up water?

For tank water, I'm with Kirbster. While I've heard of people trying it, I don't think its capable of removing enough to make a
difference.

On the other hand, its supposed to be very good after an RO to remove phosphates for make up water. I am going to try it
soon.
